What is the best non-online, one-player game that could be played on an airplane or in a car while travelling?

Obviously, I want to know a good one-player PC game that could be played for 1-2 hours straight, and can be continued to be played few hours after, without getting bored.



Possible genres that I like RPG, Adventure, Action, Puzzle, Strategy.
