Do items in the store expire as new items are introduced or do thy just remain in the database? Are there any free items such as demos or arcade/puzzle games? Is there any sort of sharing system that allows you to upload your own material such as tv shows and moves and share them with your peers?

Everything stays in the store, if you;ve paid for something it is removed from you being able to see it so that you don't accidently download it and pay for it again. Themes, demos videos are just some of the things that are free normally the full game costs money. I don't think the PSstore has an uploading facility but you can access the internet from your PS3 so why not just upload them to youtube or something.A few questions about the Playstation Online Store?
The store does have free stuff. Demos, videos, themes etc you can donwload and use these at any time.
Some stuff does seem to get replaced, I have one game I paid for that no longer seems to appear in the store. I don't know if it still exists but it should do somewhere.

Some things get removed if very few people download them. Demo's, wallpapers, themes, game and movie trailers are always free. There is no way to upload your own content. But as someone above me suggested, the PS3 has a web browser so you could upload it to Youtube.
